Fran O’Brien Award

Purpose

Recognise and encourage outstanding newcomers to student housing and associated operations and introduce them to AACUHO.

Criteria

Nominees should have worked in student housing or associated areas for a period of less than four years consecutively at the time of nomination. Significant and quantifiable achievement and\or success in, or the introduction of, an innovative or outstanding work practice or outstanding service to students\staff in their residence\college with definable benefits. Previous award winners are ineligible.

Award

The cost of Conference registration and basic accommodation for attendance at the next annual conference. Associated travel costs may also be subsidised. Total value $1000.

Joe Massingham Meritorious Service Award

Purpose

To recognise a member who has given outstanding service to the Association.

Criteria

Nominees should have been a member of the Association for at least 5 continuous years. Current Office Bearers of the Association are ineligible.

Award

A perpetual trophy on which recipients names are engraved and a smaller trophy to be retained by the recipients.

Michael O'Leary Award for innovation

Purpose

To recognise a member who has introduced an innovation that has gretly changed AACUHO or the industry as a whole.

Criteria

This award is for extraordinary innovation and is not awarded if it is deemed there is no deserving nominee

The AACUHO Executive decide on the award winner, based on knowledge of members contributions to innovation.

Award

A perpetual trophy on which recipients names are engraved and a smaller trophy to be retained by the recipients.

 

Adden Scholarship

Purpose

To assist a member to attend the ACUHO-I annual conference by way of financial assistance.

Criteria

Must present a program at the annual AACUHO conference in Australasia and submit and present the same program, as part of the "Regional Best" series at the ACUHO-I conference in the same year. If there is more than one nominee for the award the Executive Committee will decide on the winner having regard to content, relevance etc.

Award

Funding up to the value of US$900 to be applied to the ACUHO-I conference registration fee with any balance remaining to be given to the recipient at the ACUHO-I conference. The award will be made up to 2008 at this stage.

 

AACUHO Scholarship Award

Purpose

Any purpose which is likely to lead to the enhancement of the industry or the Association.

Criteria

Must be a member of AACUHO.
Request / proposal in writing to be considered by the AACUHO Executive.

Award

Funding up to the value of $1000.00

 

ACUHO-I Award

Purpose

To assist a new professional (less than 3 years in the industry) employed at an ACUHO-I member institution financially to attend tha ACUHO-I Annual Conference

Criteria

Must be emplayed at an ACUHO-I member institution.
Request / proposal in writing to be considered by the AACUHO Executive.
Nomination Form must be submitted.

Award

Funding up to the value of US$1500.00

 

Starnet Systems Professional Development Bursary

Purpose

To assist a member of AACUHO in their professional development through assisting them financially to attend the ACUHO-I conference and the preceding Study Tour.

Criteria

Must be a member of AACUHO.
Request / proposal in writing to be considered by the AACUHO Executive and must be supported by another member of AACUHO.

Award

Funding up to the value of $2500.00

 

Presidents Award

Purpose

For the President of AACUHO to acknowledge the outstanding service of a member to the association.

Criteria

Must be a member of AACUHO.
The President will present this award based on their choice.  This award is not necessarily presented annually.

Award

A perpetual trophy on which recipients names are engraved and an engraved gift to be retained by the recipients.
